February 2012 - Dr. Boultbee and animal welfare team
provide assistance in Mulege,
Mexico
Dr. Ashley Boultbee, owner of Kingsdale Animal Hospital, joined a six-member
team in Mulege Mexico operating a sterilization and vaccination clinic with
Patrons of Animal
Welfare (PAW), under the auspices of the
Canadian Animal Assistance
Team (CAAT).
The CAAT team treated over 130 animals and performed a total of 78 surgeries.
Over 91% of the work was performed on animals owned by Mexican families who
otherwise would not have the opportunity to get their pets spayed or neutered.
The CAAT team also performed tumour removals, repaired fractures, administered
vaccines and treated many animals with external parasites.

Dr. Boultbee assists the Canadian Animal Assistance Team in Nunavut Canada.
The
Canadian Animal Assistance Team is made up of veterinary professionals
dedicated to the care of animals worldwide. Their mandate is to have an impact
on the safety, health and population control of domestic animals worldwide by
providing education, ensuring domestic animals are included in disaster response
plans, providing spay and neuter clinics for domestic animals in rural /
underserved areas, and assisting in relief efforts after natural disasters.
